October 4 ,1905 –November 15 ,1955 ) was an English professional footballer who played as a centre-half. Born inSmethwick ,Staffordshire , Morrall played 266 games in all competitions for Birmingham, including 243 top flight League games and an appearance at Wembley in the1931 FA Cup Final . He was a dominant defender, good both in the air and on the ground, and a fierce tackler. He went on to make over 100 appearances for Swindon Town. Morrall died inBirmingham aged 50.Honours
