- Peter Slowik
Peter Slowik is a professor of
viola atOberlin Conservatory of Music . Before teaching at Oberlin, Slowik taught at Northwestern University for 13 years, earning the McCormick Professorship for Teaching Excellence. Some of his former viola students perform in major US orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and National Symphony, and in university appointments across the nation.He has a Bachelor's from New England Conservatory of Music and a Master's from Eastman. He is a former violist of the CSO. He is the artistic director of Credo Chamber Music.
Solo performances throughout US, and on NPR. Former principal violist of the American Sinfonietta, Concertante di Chicago, and the Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra. Discography on
