- Benigno Bossi
Benigno Bossi (1727- c. 1800) was an Italian engraver.
He was born at Porto d'Arcisato near
Milan . He was intended to have studied painting underPompeo Batoni , but that artist's death prevented it, and he was advised byAnton Raphael Mengs and Dietrich to apply himself to engraving. He stayed for a time inNuremberg andDresden , but during theSeven Years War he had to leaveSaxony , and went in 1760 toParma where he found patronage by the duke. He died in Parma.He engraved the following prints:
