Thomas Eric Peet (1882,
Liverpool –22 February ,1934 ) was an English Egyptologist.Biography
Peet's parents were Thomas and Salome Peet. He was educated at
Merchant Taylors' School, Crosby and atQueen's College, Oxford . From 1909 onwards he conducted excavations inEgypt for the Egypt Exploration Fund. From 1913 to 1928 he was Lecturer in Egyptology atManchester University , though he also saw service inWorld War I as a Lieutenant in theKing's Regiment (Liverpool) . Frrom 1920 to 1933 he was Brunner Professor of Egyptology at theUniversity of Liverpool . In 1933 he was appointed Reader in Egyptology at theUniversity of Oxford .Works
