"Zeacolpus blacki" is a species of medium-sized sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Turritellidae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to New Zealand, being found at two widely separated locations - off the Kapiti Coast in the North Island and north east of Banks Peninsula in the South Island.

Habitat

This snail lives from low tide level to depths of 150 m.

hell description

The shell is large, slender, with gently convex to almost straight-sided whorls. Adult sculpture is of three more or less evenly developed and evenly spaced cords, with a fine thread in each interspace.

The shell coloration is uniformly pale reddish-brown.

The shell height is up to 31.5 mm, and the width is up to 8 mm.
