José Rodríguez Fuster (born August 1946 in Villa Clara, Cuba) is a Cuban artist specializing in ceramics, painting, drawing, engraving, and graphic design.

From 1963 to he studied at Escuela Nacional de Instructores de Arte, Havana, Cuba.As professional he was comissary of several exhibitions and was also part of the Cuban Association of artist and crafstmen (ACAA).

Individual Exhibitions

Fuster did several exhibitions of his work, this are just a few of them. In 1967 he preented "Acuarelas y dibujos. Alegría de vivir "(itinerant for the gallerys of Havana), Cuba. Years later he showed his pieces in "Drawings and ceramics" in 1976, Opera Theater Hall, Bucharest, Rumania. In 1994 he presented "Acuarelas y Cerámicas de Fúster"in Galería Espacio Abierto, Revista Revolución y Cultura, Havana, Cuba. He presented also in 1998 "Oil Paintings by Fúster". Lyon, France. Recently in 2007 his works were exhibited under the name "The colours of life" in The North Wall Gallery, Oxford England. He is a very active artist so this is just a selection of his rich artistic life.

Collective Exhibitions

Fuster has particpated also in many group shows. In 1966 he was part of a selection "Arte Popular", ENIA (National School of Art Instructors). Centro de Arte Internacional, Havana, Cuba. In 1975 was celebrated "Cerámicas Cubanas", Museo de Artes Decorativas, Havana, Cuba. He wasl also selected to conform a big exhibition named "Graphics, Photographs, Books and Handcrafts from Cuba". New Delhi, India. In 1997 he was in the "Feria Internacional de Artesanía. FIART’97". PABEXPO, Havana, Cuba.

Awards

He received also a lot of recognitions and prizes, in 1974 Prize in Ceramics. IV Salón Nacional Juvenil de Artes Plásticas, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba. Among others he has obteines prizes in Saloon and contest of ceramics in Cuba and others countrys.

His pieces can be foun in institutions such as Center for Cuban Studies, New York, U.S.A., Museo de la Cerámica, Castillo de la Real Fuerza, Havana, Cuba and Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba.
