Shuttleworth College is a mixed 11-16 comprehensive school in Burnley, Lancashire.

History

The school was formed from the former Gawthorpe High School in September 2006 as part of the first wave of a nationwide 10-15 year programme of capital investment funded by the Department for Education and Skills called [http://www.bsf.gov.uk Building Schools for the Future] . It moved into new buildings on the former Gawthorpe site at the start of the 2008-2009 academic year.

Attainment

In 2007, 26% of Year 11 students achieved 5 A*-C GCSE passes including English Language and Mathematics (national average 46.7%).
