"Maculavirus ""Tymoviridae" are monopartite single-stranded positive sense
RNA plant viruses , belonging to group IV of the Baltimore classification of viruses. Thegenome consists of one largeopen reading frame and is capped at the 5’ terminus. The particles are non-enveloped andisometric with a diameter of around 30nm, with anicosahedral structure and atriangulation number of 3.The largest of three genera is "Tymovirus" with 24
species where as the other genera, "Marafivirus" and "Maculavirus" have 4 and 2 species respectively. The "Tymoviridae" are a relatively new
family , only approved in 2002.The "Tymoviridae" family include the following genera:
*Genus "Tymovirus "; type species: "Turnip yellow mosaic virus "
*Genus "Marafivirus "; type species: "Maize rayado fino virus "
*Genus "Maculavirus "; type species: "Grapevine fleck virus "References
