Welford-on-Avon is a
village of around 1,800 inhabitants situated some 6 km (4 miles) west-south-west of thetown ofStratford-upon-Avon in thecounty ofWarwickshire ,England .Until
1931 Welford-on-Avon was inGloucestershire . It has the tallestmaypole in England. There are threepub s and many Tudorhalf-timbered cottage s, mostly close to the village church, which is the older part of Welford. Primary school was constructed on Headland Road. It now has all the facilities it needs and has one trophy in sports. In 2007, the headteacher left the school to become a schools inspector. The school is in construction again, 2008, for a spacious entrance and bigger staff room, office and hall.External links
