The National Health Surveillance Agency (in Portuguese, Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária, ANVISA) is an autonomous organ of the government of Brazil. It is "an independently administered, financially-autonomous regulatory agency, with security of tenure for its directors during the period of their mandates. The Agency is managed by a Collegiate Board of Directors, comprised of five members." [1]
