He was born inVanleer, Tennessee .Hinson was a major leaguer whose career, statistically speaking, was only slightly different than that of
Herb Washington . He appeared in three games for the 1928 Red Sox, all in pinch-running duties, scoring a run, and did not get anat-bat or fielding chances. After that, he never appeared in a major league game again.Hinson died in
