The suburb is built around the site of early settler Henry King's farm, Woodleigh. Huatoki River . It lies between the suburbs ofWestown to the west, and Vogeltown to the east.Some of the main streets include Shelter Grove, Veale Road, Frankley Road, Fernleigh Street, Govett Avenue, and Ashmore Drive. Frankleigh Park is home to a primary school, a kindergarten and a shopping centre, and has two large parks, Sutherland Park and Ferndale Park.
