Peppercorn is a British singer songwriter,musician and producer AKA Rosie Ashcroft. She was born in Casablanca, Morroco and has homes in London, New York and Africa.

Career

Free Love

Peppercorn's album Free Love was released on BMG Arista. The album was made record of the week by publications such as music industry bible The Tip Sheet, Record of The Day and radio stations including Radio Two and many regional stations. She was voted one of the top five best live acts to see by the Observer. She was nominated for an award by Carlton Television as one of the most influential up and comers in the UK. BMG released the album and removed it from the record stores a week later. Following the release of a second single, 'Nice To You', BMG released the album again and removed it a week later citing unpreparedness.Fact|date=October 2007

Hyperventilating

Hyperventilating was the first single from 'Free Love.' Following similar reception from the media as the album, the single was removed from the stores by BMG.

Nice To You

Nice To You was the second single chosen by BMG which received a similar fate as the previous single. BMG's subsidiary labels in other territories frustrated by the stop start UK campaign opted to release the single by themselves. Top tens were garnered from Europe to Africa although exact placings were casually reported by the label leaving information sketchy. Subsequently upon hearing that an attempt was being made for a third single Peppercorn requested to leave BMG and set up her own label hiring a new team.

Second Album

Since leaving BMG Peppercorn has toured Africa, USA and Europe. She released Free Love and sold reportedly in excess of 30,000 copies privately.She is currently working on her second album.

Other
