History
Lighting&Sound International was launched in November 1985 as a monthly magazine for the lighting and sound industries. It was published in association with the recently founded Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA).
Over the years, the magazine has tracked and reflected changes in the industry. As a result, the publication itself has grown - the first issue had just over 60 pages, whereas now typically the magazine is 100 pages plus, with some recent issues reaching over 140 pages.
To keep with the times and offer a much more immediate, up-to-date resource of industry news, in 2003 PLASA Media launched its own website which now features a constantly increasing archive of over 20,000 news stories dating back to September 1999.
With the magazine reaching subscribers around the world, a digital edition of Lighting&Sound International was launched in September 2007 which is available at the same time an issue is published to benefit international readers - particularly those furthest from the UK - by offering immediate access to the magazine. It also builds a searchable online archive of issues for registered users.
In May 2004, a sister magazine was launched in the USA called "
Lighting&Sound America ".Circulation
Lighting&Sound International is ABC audited and has over 10,000 subscribers around the world.
