HighTide Festival is an annual
theatre festival which takes place at The Cut inHalesworth , Suffolk, UK. Founded in 2007 by Sam Hodges, the inaugural festival took place between 6 and 8 April 2007.HighTide 2007 produced four full productions and four rehearsed readings of new plays by young writers. Megan Walsh , Assembly byTom Basden , Ned & Sharon bySam Holcroft , VI/VII byPericles Snowdon , Weightless bySarah Cuddon , Oscar and Jim byIain Weatherby , You Were After Poetry by Steven Bloomer and Inside Out byMatt Morrison . The 50 strong company of writers, directors, and actors, received masterclasses fromRichard Eyre ,Joe Penhall ,David Farr , andNicholas Wright .The festival also featured a panel discussion led by
BBC Radio 4 'sLibby Purves ,Max Stafford-Clark in conversation withNina Raine , short films, comedy, performance poetry and music fromTom Baxter and friends.HighTide 2008 returns to The Cut with an expanded programme featuring devised theatre, film, and playwrighting alongside other talks and events.
The Festival's Artistic Directors are Sam Hodges and
Steven Jon Atkinson . The festival's patrons areSinead Cusack ,Sally Greene , David Hare andBill Nighy .References
