The nihongo|Kumamoto Electric Railway|熊本電気鉄道|Kumamoto Denki Tetsudō is the public transport company in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It is abbreviated as nihongo|Kumamoto Dentetsu|熊本電鉄 or nihongo|Kumaden|熊電. The company was founded in 1909. The company operates railway and bus lines. Its railway lines are also called nihongo|Kikuchi Electric Railway|菊池電車|Kikuchi Densha among locals, from the former name of the company before 1948.
