Jiang Pinchao

Jiang Pinchao (Chinese: 蒋品超; Pinyin: Jiǎng Pǐnchāo; born 1967) is a Chinese poet, director of June Fourth Heritage & Culture Association, chief editor of "Collection of June Fourth Poems" and "Collection of Human Right Poems", oversea democratic personnel, the first author being blocked by Google in the Internet history, which was revealed by professional research organization. He was sentenced and in jail for 4 years because of he actively participated in Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 in China. Biography

Jiang graduated from the Department of Language Art of Huazhong Normal University in China, director of Student Publicize Branch of the university, was appointed to work as a teacher in the News Department of Wuhan University in July 1989. Because he participated in the organization the student democratic movement, he was arrested and put in jail for 4 years, deprived of political right for 2 year in the First Jail of Hubei Province in China. In 1992, together with other political prisoners, he resisted the abuse, then was tortured brutally by the jail bureau and confined. [This event was one of the important very serious cases in that year’s Right Record. After released, Jiang Pinchao married with an American lady, Marline Bun in April 1994. Immigrated to the United States as a spouse status. Divorced with Ms. Bun in October 1994 [ [http://asiademo.org/gb/author/jiangpinchao.htm Democratic Forum, little documents of Pinchao Jiang] ] .

Since 2001, Jiang initiated an intercommunion and controversy on the internet, he sparkplug “re-ponder the history, be concerned about the politics, commiserate the public.”, propose the theory of “thoughts of public” and “thoughts of imagination”. His topics involved June Fourth Democratic Movement, the public, politics and many other sensitive questions, it is the first time to propose, sparkplug and push such sensitive questions in strictly thought-controlled China, and a large quantity of poets take part in this controversy. Because it’s too strong influence, Jiang was blocked on network in China in 2004.

This is the first time that Jiang Pinchao has been blocked by the international large internet company, in international internet history. This was discovered by a professional examination institution. Because Google broke the promise of “Do no evil”, this matter has created international society long time and wide-range attention. The United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice already held a state conference for this. The United States Congress has, before, held a hearing for this. After this matter, each government of the international society and the important organizations officially started to seriously block the free expression of opinion online.

April 14, 2005: Jiang Pinchao was nominated for “The President Culture Prize”in Taiwan.

On Feb. 15th, 2006, Pinchao Jiang, the first person being blocked by the international large internet company, fast protested before the Chinese general embassy in Los Angeles, to testified and supported the American congress hearing conference to the internet blockage behavior of Google, Yahoo, CiscoMicrosoft. The next morning, he was arrested by the local police, because the Chinese general embassy indicted him harass, he was rescued the same day in the afternoon by the local consortium. On March 5th, 2006, Pinchao Jiang, together with Jinsheng Wei, Hongbing Yuan, Xue Sheng, and other people launched an international fast that include ten thousand people fast synchronously to express support for the personals who were persecuted by the Chinese government, and Pinchao Jiang also organized and presides the local fist activity in Los Angeles, pushed one of the climaxes that overseas Chinese people protested the Chinese government persecution to Chinese people. Jiang pointed in the convocation that after the freedom trend of thought appeared in intelligentsia in 1980s, nowadays, a more profound and thorough trend of public thought is breaking out along with the economic development in China. This large-scale trend of public thought is a rouse of rights of public economic interests.
