Lamplighters Music Theatre

Lamplighters Music Theatre is a semi-professional theatrical company in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1952 by Orva Hoskinson and Ann Pool Mac Nab, the Lamplighters specialize in light opera, particularly the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. Their season usually comprises four productions: a fully-staged major production in January/February; a touring staged concert in the spring; a fully-staged major production in July/August; and an original satirical work, presented as a Gala fundraiser, in November. The company is currently under the artistic direction of Barbara Heroux, and the resident Musical Director is Baker Peeples.

The Lamplighters performed at Harding Theater from 1961-1968 and then at the University of San Francisco's [http://www.usfca.edu/presentationtheater/history.html Presentation Theater] until 1995. They currently perform at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and other Bay Area theaters.
