Ricardo Estanislao Zulueta

Ricardo Estanislao de Zulueta is a Cuban artist.

Life

He was born in Havana, Cuba in 1962 to parents of Basque and Spanish descent. He grew up in Miami, Florida. Since 1985 he lives in Manhattan in New York City. He has also lived in Madrid and Paris. His work as a visual artist primarily involves photography, performance, sculpture and installation. He studied Visual Arts and Public Administration at Florida International University, Miami, Florida, U.S.A., 1980-1985 and Arts Policy, Museum Studies & Photography at graduate school at New York University, New York, New York from 1985-1987 where he was selected to be the distinguished Helbein Scholar.

During his life he has obtained many awards and recognitions. Among them are: New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts CAVA Fellowship, Cintas Foundation Fellowship, Art Matters Artist Grant, Artists Space Artist Grant, Ludwig Vogelstein Artist Grant and Igor Foundation Artist Grant. He has executed public art commissions for Metro Dade Art in Public Places, Miami, Florida and the San Francisco Art Commission, San Francisco, California.
