Steven W. Peck

Steven Peck is Founder and President, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities [http://www.greenroofs.org] an independent, non-profit industry association promoting education, advocacy, professionalism and excellence in the planning, designing and building of green roof, green walls and other forms of living architecture projects since 1999.

Steven W. Peck has spent the past 15 years conducting public policy research in the fields of technology innovation and diffusion, and urban sustainability.

In 1999 he co-authored a major federal government report on barriers to green roof technology diffusion called “Green Backs for Green Roofs.”

He is the Editor-at-Large and Publisher of the "Green Roof Infrastructure Monitor" magazine [http://www.greenroofs.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=28] , a semi-annual publication that profiles green roof, living wall, urban agriculture developments and research in North America and Europe and has implemented several green roofs in Toronto, Canada.

He is the founder of the Annual International Greening Rooftops for Sustainable Communities Conference, Awards and Trade Show [http://greenroofs.org/baltimore/] .

(Note: In January 2008, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities will relaunch the Green Roof Infrastructure Monitor [http://www.greenroofs.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=28] as the "Living Architecture Monitor" to be published four times per year.

Steve Peck holds an honors B.A. from McGill University in Political Science and Economics. He was born in Canada.
