Vanessa Duve is a German fashion model who replaced Lauren Hutton in advertising for Barneys New York in the late 1980s. She is 6 feet tall. In America she is best well known for starring in numerous Biotherm advertisements in the late 1980s.

She was represented by Sara Foley of the W2 agency. W2 is an offshoot of the Wilhelmina Models agency, which was started by Foley and Susan Quillen in the spring of 1989.

Among Duve's noteworthy physical characteristics are a long neck, an aquiline nose and stunning blue eyes. Her disposition on the runway was sophisticated and amiable. She commanded an $8,000 a day modeling fee in 1989. That year she posed in Vogue (magazine) for three full-page ads for Valentino Boutique and a fourth for Georges Rech.Looking further in the same issue Duve models for Chanel and an editorial and fashion pictorial for Azzedine Alaia. Stylish German photographer, Peter Lindbergh, took the pictures. The nineteen pages featuring Duve culminates with her showing fashions photographed by Patrick Demarchelier. The clothing she models is a gray velvet shirt, a gold satin tunic, and a long black crepe evening dress by Armani. Foley explained the advantages of having the same model appear in a magazine's editorial pages as well as its advertising. "The model and the clothing become synonymous with the magazine's message, sharing its credibility." ["The Models And The Glamour Trade", New York Times, November 12, 1989, pg. SMA28.]
