Agder Energi was created in 2000 when
Aust-Agder Energi (AAE),Vest-Agder Energiverk (VAE) ogKristiansand Energiverk (KEV) were merged. At the time the company was valued at NOK 14.8 billion. The ownership was divided by 31.23% to AAE, 38.36% to VAE and 27.96% to KEV. In 2002 the state owned Statkraft bough 45.5% of the company.
