He started his playing days atJS Saint-Pierroise in Réunion before moving to France and playing for Le Havre, then Gueugnon, before moving back to Le Havre. He has represented Réunion in matches as well.In January of 2008, Guillaume Hoarau signed a contract with the French club
Paris Saint-Germain , but spent the rest of the season in Le Havre on a loan.In the 2007-08 season, Guillaume Hoarau became top scorer of French Ligue 2, scoring 28 goals in 38 appearances.
He made his debut for PSG in a 1-0 defeat at Monaco on 9th August 2008.
Hoarau scored his first goal for PSG on his home debut, hitting the winner in a 1-0 victory over Bordeaux.
