- Pat "Hawk" Hardy
Patrick O'Neal Hardy was born
June 14 ,1949 inPort Arthur, Texas .During his lifetime he has excelled in the Martial Arts and as a police officer and prosecuting attorney. As a Black Belt in Karate he was a National Champion and World Rated Full Contact Karate Fighter. During that time he acquired the nickname of "Super-Hawk" often shortened to "Hawk". He was defeated in February of 1977 by Ross Scott in his bid for the World Title. In 1994 he started training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Torrance, CA under Rorion and Royce Gracie. In September of 2004 he, along with four others, were awarded their Black Belts by Royce Gracie. These were Royce's first Black Belts. Hawk's accomplishments in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu have been numerous. He is a four time World Champion, a three time U.S. Champion, and a four time Pan American Champion, all in his age and weight group.
As a prosecuting attorney, Hawk and Guy James Gray were the lead prosecutors in the infamous
James Byrd dragging cases.External links
