West Yorkshire Hurdle

West Yorkshire Hurdle

The West Yorkshire Hurdle is a Grade 2 National Hunt hurdle race in the United Kingdom for four-year-old and above horses. It is run over a distance of 3 miles 1 furlongs (5,029 metres) at Wetherby Racecourse in late October or early November. There are twelve hurdles to be jumped in the race.

The race was first run in 1990. Prior to 1992 it was run over 3 miles. Since 2000 it has been run under the sponsored title of the John Smith's Hurdle.
