- Listeria Hfq binding LhrC
Listeria Hfq binding LhrC this
ncRNA was identified by screening for RNA molecules which co-immunoprecipitated with the RNA chaperone Hfq [cite journal |author=Christiansen JK, Nielsen JS, Ebersbach T, Valentin-Hansen P, Søgaard-Andersen L, Kallipolitis BH |title=Identification of small Hfq-binding RNAs in Listeria monocytogenes |journal=RNA |volume=12 |issue=7 |pages=1383–96 |year=2006 |pmid=16682563 |doi=10.1261/rna.49706] . This RNA is transcribed from an intergenic region between theprotein coding genes cysK, a putativecysteine synthase and sul, a putativedihydropteroate synthase . InListeria monocytogenes four additional copies of lhrC have been identified in the genome, three of which are located in tandem repeat upstream of the originally characterised lhrC. The function of LhrC is not known. This RNA molecule appears to be conserved amongstListeria species but has not been identified in otherbacterial species.References
