Montreal International Reggae Festival

Montreal International Reggae Festival

Started in 2004, The Montreal Reggae Festival is held annually at the Old Port of Montreal, during the 2nd weekend of July. The Montreal Reggae Festival attracts many larger reggae acts and was slowly growing to be one of the most popular reggae events in Eastern North America.

Since its foundation in 2004, by Eric Blagrove (President: 2004-present), Ricardo Forbes (Vice-President: 2004-2008), and Cezar Brumeanu (Producer: 2004-2008), the Montreal Reggae Fest’ has ranked among the top annual festivals held in Montreal each year. It was a 3-day weekend-long, 3-stages, and 35,000 patrons event that was by far the largest of its kind (reggae fest) in North America, held in one of Montreal’s hottest touristic outdoor venues; the Old Port of Montreal waterfront quays.

Since the departure of Cezar Brumeanu and Ricardo Forbes in 2008, the Festival has downgraded to 2 days, 1 stage, and approximately 2,000 patrons.
