Carlos A. Gimenez (born 1954 in Cuba) is a commissioner for District 7 for Miami-Dade County, Florida (2004- present). He was also the City Manager for the City of Miami from 2000 to 2003.

Commissioner Gimenez graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1972. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Barry University. In 1993, he completed the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Prior to being City Manager of the City of Miami, Commissioner Gimenez spent 25 years with the City of Miami's Fire-Rescue Department, the last nine of them as the Fire Chief.

Commissioner Gimenez, while serving as City Manager of the City of Miami, was widely credited with bringing fiscal stability to the City for the first time in decades. He left the City of Miami with the then lowest tax rate in 50 years, and the highest budget surplus in the City's history (approx. $140 million), and an investment grade bond rating.

He is married to Lourdes Portela and they have three children, Carlos, Julio and Lourdes.
