- Judd School CCF
The Judd School CCF comprises an
Army and anRAF Section with an establishment strength of 166 cadets. Around one third of the year 9 age group join the Contingent on a purely voluntary basis. The contingent is fully staffed with officers mainly drawn from the school. The Contingent Commander, Lt Col Graham 'Stowelly' Stowell has been in post since 1991 and he is supported by Capt Alex Noble (O.C. Army) and Flt Lt Richard Walshaw (O.C. RAF).Cadets in the Contingent have the opportunity to attend Annual camp and Adventure Training. Adventure Training alternates between North Devon and Snowdonia and takes place at Easter each year as well Windemere in the Lake District on occasion. Around half of the cadets attend annual camp.
A large number of senior cadets take up the course opportunities offered by the Services and every year attend a wide variety of courses. A number of cadets have won Army scholarships in recent years and David Hewett won the Kriegie Trophy in 2006. The RAF Section has won the Air Squadron Trophy on two occasions.
The highest-ranked currently serving ex-cadet is Air Chief Marshal Sir Clive Loader.
