Mumtazabad

Mumtazabad is one of the oldest yet well-planned housing areas of Multan in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is located at 30°10'30N 71°29'30E and lies in the east of Multan.[1][2]

Mumtazabad Colony Multan is situated in the South of Central Multan. It is well developed and a populated colony. The blocks' arrangements are very symmetrical. Every Block has its own Big Play Ground and a Big Masjid. [3]

There is an overhead bridge on the railway line which connects chungi no.14 which further connects with Shah Rukne Alam colony and Hafiz Jamal Road. Hafiz Jamal Road connects to Dolat Gate.

BCG Chowk

BCG represent the British Cotton Ginners, a cotton ginning unit was situtaed at this chowk in early 1940s. near the mumtazabad a housing colony peoples colony also situtaed there is muslim public high school

Landmarks

The Most significance of the BCG Chowk is due to the ASTANA AALIA AND Sharine (Maqbra ) of BABA HAFEEZULLAH SHAH NAQEEBI there.The most important places of BCG chowk are Bhutta Fertilizer Dealer,Usman & Sons Fertilizer Dealer,Punjab Kitab Ghar,Usman Grossary Store,Idrees Hardware,Majeed Sanitary and Noor Pan Shop.

It is the start of Mumtazabad if you are coming from Vehari Chowk. It connects Vehari and Bahawal pur Road with Mumtazabad. It is one of the most busiest chowks of Multan. It also conects to the Post Graduate collage of Commerce Multan, Govt Girls Degree Collage. Polytechnique institute for women, Government College of Technology and the one of the oldest oil extracting mill new Multan oil mills known as Sunara Mill.

Gol Plot

A big market for women. There are lots of clothes and jewellery shops. The Gol Plot is Named Gol Plot due to its Semi-Spherical Shape. In reality it is D in shape but it looks like a Round Plot so people called it Gol Plot.

Mumtazabad Main Market

Always full of hustle bustle of people all the day long. You may find a huge number of Street Hawkers in front of Shops, that is another world for shopping besides Market shops because you can easily bargain with them and their prices are very low. While shopkeepers are very depressed by these Street Hawkers because Street Hawkers snatch their prey!

Mian Faisal Mukhtar Park

It is present beside Mumtazabad Colony along the Vehair Road. It is a very good refreshment point and jogging park. People from all over Mumtazabad come to this park early in the morning and do walk everyday.

Political Background Mumtazabad Colony plays an important role in the politics of Multan. It is a biggest area and campaign of the political leaders are much important here. In history People voted Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group and it was the strongest area for muslim league. Very few political Figures took care of the area and of the people after becoming members of Assembly. Members who have elected from here are:-

  • Sheikh Muhammad Tahir Rasheed MNA
  • Haji Ihsan Ud din Qureshi MPA
  • Rana Noor ul Hasan MPA (Late)
  • Rana Mehmoodul Hasan MNA (Current)

These people have not done anything for the development of this area. In 2001 When Mian Faisal Mukhtar became City Nazim then he developed this area with the help of Union Nazim Mirza Furqan Ali Mughal at that time. Both person have worked a lot for the area and for the people. They made new parks, New Roads, New Sewerage, New grassy Grounds, Water Filtration Plant and many other works. Then in 2002 Elections held and following members were elected:-

  • Rana Mahmood ul Hasan MNA
  • Mirza Furqan Mughal MPA

Ch.Masood Arain is the senior vice present of Pakistan Muslim League(N). He is the young blood into the politics having good character sincerity and a true Deewana for Quid Nawaz Sharif. He has offered many sacrifices for his party in the musharaf regime. Currently he is working as a loyal worker and a true jaannisar of Mian Nawaz Sharif. He Has good personality, character and devotion to his work. He belongs to a nobel Family whose background is very clear and open to everyone. His door are open for everyone 24 Hours. His friendly attitude and good manners are the main influnce that attract people to himself and finally to PML(N).
