They participate in the NCAA's Division II and in theMid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association , except inice hockey . The hockey program competes in Division I as a member of theCentral Collegiate Hockey Association . The men's ice hockey program reached the NCAA post-season tournament in the 2005-2006 season. The women's soccer and softball teams have won the NCAA's Division II's national championships, as have the wrestling team, who were three-time national champions from 2004-2006.Formerly a member of the
North Central Conference , UNO joined theMid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association onJuly 1 ,2008 . Twelve of UNO's 15 teams compete in the conference. The ice hockey team will remain a member of the CCHA. The wrestling and women's swimming and diving teams haven't had plans announced for their conference affiliations, as the MIAA does not sponsor championships for those sports.
