Viscount Torre de Moncorvo – title created by H.M. Queen Maria II, of Portugal, first as Baron [by decree dated 23rd May 1835] in favour of Cristovão Pedro de Morais Sarmento, natural son, legitimated at the same time as his brother, the Viscount Banho, of Tomás Inácio de Morais Sarmento, then as Viscount [by decree dated 13th July 1847] , Member of the House of Lords, Knight of the Royal Household, Chargé d´Affaires of Portugal in London and Copenhaguen, Minister of Portugal in London, Knight Great-Cross of the Order of São Tiago da Espada, of Portugal, Knight of the Order of Malta, Knight Commander of the Order of Danebrog, of Denmark.
The 2nd Baron was João Pedro de Morais Sarmento, who, by his marriage, was the 8th Marquess Fronteira, the 6th Marquess Alorna and 9th Count Torre, without succession.The 2nd Viscount was Alexandre Tomás de Morais Sarmento, second son of the 1st Baron and 1st Viscount. Mayor of Mangualde [Portugal] , Knight Commander of the Order of Isabel, the Catholic, of Spain, etc.The representation of the title was in D.Maria Angelina de Morais Sarmento, second daughter of the 2nd Viscount, who married 14th February 1901 João Cabral Soares de Albergaria e Lemos, Mayor of Mangualde [Portugal] .The 3rd Viscount was João José Cabral Soares de Albergaria, great-great-son, by his mother side, of the 1st Viscount, B.A.The 4th Viscount is João Bernardo Cabral Soares de Albergaria, B.A.
