- Butler Noble
Butler G. Noble (1815–1890) was a
Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin . He was born inGeneva, New York but moved toWisconsin in 1850. He soon joined the Republican Party. He served as a member of theWisconsin State Assembly in 1858, and was elected lieutenant governor at the end of the next year, a position in which he served form 1860 until 1862. In 1864, he moved toNew York City , where he held jobs first as aweigher in thecustoms house , then as aharbor master , then as chief clerk in theseizure room . He died in 1890, inBrooklyn .References
