Detective Senior Constable Jennifer Mapplethorpe is a fictional character from the Australian Crime Drama City Homicide. She is portrayed by Nadine Garner.She has appeared in every episode of City Homicide so far.

When the series began, Jennifer was new to Homicide and had previously been in Fraud. She was meant to only be a temporary replacement for Duncan Freeman but eventually became a permanent member of the Homicide Squad.

She was recently in a traumatic event when she had to shoot a teenage boy dead in self-defence. However, a meeting with the boy's mother helped her overcome this.

Jennifer's an ambitious, intelligent woman, and her ability to think on her feet is what makes her an ideal Homicide Detective. Jennifer's sensitive, without being sentimental and she has a strong ability to read people - crooks and cops alike.

The only female Homicide Detective, Jennifer enjoys a strong and unique relationship with her co-workers. Stirring Simon like a younger brother is always a fun game. Duncan and Jennifer may butt heads from time to time, but Jen knows that he'll always have her back. And then there's Matt. In Series Two, Matt finds himself in a new relationship, and it catches Jennifer off-guard. Is it just that she resents the change to their friendship...or deep down does Jennifer have more feelings? Jen is focussed and competitive. Her work life is about death, victims, and the families left behind. Privately she challenges herself to extremes, doing pounding endurance runs and long yoga sessions. She also likes to capture life through the lens.
