Track Entertainment is an entertainment marketing, production, and media company. It is the parent company of several Web sites including Clubplanet, NewYears, Wantickets, nocheLatina, and CoolJunkie. One division of the company is devoted to offline events, which produces concerts for corporate clients like Pepsi, T-Mobile, and Aquafina. For example, Track produced the “Pepsi Smash” concert series, which included concerts with artists including Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, and Mariah Carey. The third division of the company is Track Digital. Track creates, designs, and implements marketing-media for clients like Scion (automobile), Bacardi, and Heineken International. The company is located in New York City at 485 Madison Ave.

Web Properties

Track owns and operates several Web sites, most of which are in the nightlife industry. The largest is Clubplanet, a site that has bar reviews, events, guestlists, photo galleries and other nightlife-related content. Wantickets is an online-ticketing site for the nightlife industry. NewYears lists and sells tickets for hundreds of parties on New Year’s Eve. nocheLatina is a primarily Latino nightlife/lifestyle site. CoolJunkie is a Miami-based nightlife site.

History

Originally called “Track Marketing,” the company was founded in 1986. It was sold to Warner Music Group in 1990. Two years later, Track was purchased back from Warner Music Group. During this time the firm focused primarily on music/concert productions. In 2002, Track merged with the nightlife Web site Clubplanet, then added the ticketing website Wantickets to its portfolio in 2003. In 2004, Track purchased CoolJunkie, a Miami-based nightlife/lifestyle site. Track launched its first multicultural site, nocheLatina, in 2005.

Clients

Track’s clients include American Express, Pepsi, Aquafina, Bacardi, Heineken, Dentyne, Lipton Brisk, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist, Nissan (automobile), T-Mobile, Sprint Nextel, TY-KU, Havaianas, and Secret.

Additional Details

Nightlife Content

Clubplanet has several areas of content: bar listings, event listings, photo galleries, guestlists, celebrity gossip, and nightlife blogs. In major markets like New York, Clubplanet updates over 20 events and blog posts a day. While its focus seems to be on larger cities, Clubplanet has bar listings in over 50 US cities. In January of 2007, the site expanded to Montreal and launched Canadian-based nightlife programming (venues, events, photos and videos.) The site also has 30 recent profiles of London venues, leading some to speculate an expansion to the UK.

Print Publication

In a partnership with publisher Kellog Media, Clubplanet produces a monthly print magazine “Clubplanet Las Vegas” that covers nightlife news, interviews, and events in Las Vegas, NV. The magazine is free with a distribution of roughly 100,000 copies. The magazine also interviews national and local celebrities like Hillary Duff, Perez Hilton, and Tommy Lee.
