The Alexandrian Gnostic Church is a modern sacramental gnostic community.
The AGC describes itself as
an Ancient-Modern Gnostic Community - we honor the transformative power of traditional ritual and practices, while working together to create a praxis which is suitable for the time in which we live.In our practice, we draw upon many sources, including especially the Gnostic communities of the first centuries of the common era , as interpreted by our own experiences and needs as a community.
The Alexandrian Gnostic Church claims valid Apostolic Succession from Orthodox, Catholic, and Old Catholic lineages.Fact|date=October 2007
The AGC's central liturgical practice is the Rite of St. Thomas, a contemplative eucharist based on traditional liturgies. Individual practices include hesychia, the Middle Pillar, Centering Prayer, and Self-Remembering.
