homepage = http://www.globalactionforchildren.org/Global Action for Children (GAC) is a non-partisan, results-oriented organization dedicated to advocating for orphans and other vulnerable children in the developing world. GAC seeks to increase the level of funding by the governments of the wealthy countries for orphans and other vulnerable children in some of the poorest countries of the world. Since its founding in 2003, GAC’s efforts have influenced the passage of key U.S. legislation, including the Assistance for Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children in Developing Countries Act of 2004. GAC continues to unite various stakeholders to work together to create strategies and coordinate efforts, resulting in a greater global impact. In recognition of GAC’s achievements and the continuing need for advocacy of these issues, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation gave GAC US $1 million gift in 2006."cite web|url=http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,214777,00.html |title=Pitt, Jolie Donate $1 Million Each to Humanitarian Groups |publisher=Fox News |accessdate=2008-07-29] cite web|url=http://www.zap2it.com/movies/news/zap-angelinajoliebradpittdonatemillionscharity,0,672108.story |title=Jolie/Pitt Foundation Donates Millions: Global Action for Children and Doctors Without Borders receive $1 mil each |publisher=Zap 2 It |accessdate=2008-07-29] cite web|url=http://www.people.com/people/article/0,26334,1537302,00.html |title=Brad & Angelina Start Charitable Group |publisher=People.com |accessdate=2008-07-29] a generous gift that has allowed GAC to expand its work on its current priorities—advocacy for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Education, and Malaria.
