- Ancient Diocese of Eauze
The former Catholic archdiocese of Eauze, in south-west France, was suppressed in 879 [ [http://www.catholic-hierarchy.org/diocese/de510.html Eauze (Archdiocese) [Catholic-Hierarchy ] ] . The see was moved from
Eauze toAuch , the territory becoming part of thediocese of Auch . Eauze was anciently known also as Elusa.The first mention of a bishop of Eauze is at the
