The CampusEAI Consortium is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2003 by 14 institutions including Case Western Reserve University, University of Montana, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Foothill De-Anza Community College. The Consortium is headquarted in Cleveland, Ohio near the campus of Cleveland State University.
As a response to the increasing IT needs of incoming Internet savvy students and IT budget constraints, the Consortium was founded to help member institutions reduce the time and effort associated with implementing IT services such as Enterprise Portals, Content Management, Identity & Access Management, Business Intelligence, Collaboration Tools, etc. The Consortium enables institutions to leverage each other’s technical knowledge so that each institution can avoid reinventing the wheel. The Consortium accomplishes this via technical working groups and showcase iseminars where members share their experiences and lessons learned.
