"The Scarletti Curse" (2001) is a paranormal romance by American author Christine Feehan. Like "Lair of the Lion", it is set in Italy, however it is not in present day.

Plot summary

Adorned by gargoyles, the "Scarletti Palazzo"—called by villagers "Palazzo del Morte"—held a dreadful secret that took many lives. Every bride entering the "Palazzo" soon left in a casket.

Nicoletta cared nothing for curses and had no fear of marriage. That is, until she looked into the eyes of Don Scarletti, after she healed him and his niece. Nicoletta had thought that her gift of healing set her apart. But it was his right to choose a bride from his people, and he choose her.
