Nedko Butzev

Nedko Butzev (born in 1961 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian contemporary artist.

He created his works of art in the Bulgarian tradition of great evocative artists like Cristo Yavasheff, Dimitar Kazakov, Cvetan Crastev, and Veselin Dimov. His long experience in Cuba as a student of art at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) and the Instituto Superior de Arte "Las Americas" gave him the possibility of knowing and receiving an education next to artists like Segundo Planes, Agustín Bejarano, Rubén Alpizar, Umberto Castro, Fabelo, Luis Miquel Valdes, Consuelo Castaneda, Carmelo Gonzales and others.

Currently he is creating his works of art in Bulgaria, in video and outdoor installations. In 2006 the artist showed his new works in Nish, Serbia, Havana, Cuba, Tarnovo, Bulgaria and Varna, Bulgaria in the Georgi Velchev gallery in a month.

In December 2007 the Bulgarian publisher BISbooks published '"Nedko Butzev-Art and texts (pages: 240 ISBN 978-954-8850-67-4, seller Helikon book stores). The introduction is written by the PhD. Svilen Stefanov, chief of art history dept. of National Art Academy in Sofia. The book can be ordered in Amazon.com through Helikon book stores (www.helikon.bg) In August 2008 the artist created The Line from Pasha dere.
