A6005 road

The A6005 road is a road that starts in the Derby suburb of Chellaston and finishes in the Nottingham Suburb of Lenton. It is a minor A road and some of it used to be the A52. It is about 15 miles long.

Chellaston to Borrowash

The road starts at the roundabout where the A5111 roadfinishes. The A6005 passes a Restaurant and an ASDA before coming to a roundabout where it meets the A52. The road then passes a B&Q before coming into a minor part of Spondon. The road in Spondon passes a new housing estate and some garages and factories and older houses before going out into a small area of Countryside. The road also passes another new housing estate and a car showroom before reaching Borrowash.

Borrowash to Breaston

When the road goes through Borrowash it passes a couple of pubs and the Town Centre. The road then goes past a little chapel and a residential area. In the middle of the residential area the A6005 turns off into open countryside for a mile until it reaches Draycott. At Draycott the road goes past a residential area and Table Tennis centre before coming to the village centre where there are 3 pubs called The Travellers rest, The Coach and horses and The Victoria. The road then goes past an old big mill factory and a pub called the Harrington. After this it reaches Breaston.

Breaston to Toton

The road passes some factories and a housing estate before making it's way into the village centre. In the village centre there is a car showroom, 2 cafes, a Co-op, a Post Office and a few other shops. There is also a fish and chips shops, a church and 2 pubs called The Chequers inn and The Bulls Head. The road passes an up class residential area and a texaco petrol station before going over the M1 motorway bridge. The A6005 reaches Long Eaton and passes Wilsthorpe Science College and also goes past another up market housing area. After this it goes past Trent College and Christ College. The road then passes a large presinct of pubs, restaurants, shops and churches. After this the road goes over the Erewash Canal. After going over the canal the A6005 reaches Long Eaton Green. After it passes the Green it goes over a railway and under another railway before coming to Nottingham Road residential area. Afterr this the A6005 goes past a Horse Riding School before going over The River Erewash and going into Nottinghamshireand Toton.

Toton to Chilwell

After the A6005 passes the River Erewash it passes a T junction for central Toton. The A6005 carries on past Chilwell Retail Park and Chilwell Housing Estate. The road then passes through a part of Attenborough and then passes Chilwell High School and Chilwell Olympia Centre. A6005 then turns into Chilwell bye pass which was built in 1991 and is a dual carriageway. The Chilwell bye pass finishes outside The Beekeeper pub.

Beeston to Dunkirk

When the A6005 reaches Beeston it goes past Dovecote Lane Recreation ground and the towns major crossroads. After this the road goes past an old Tradex and a residential area. Th A6005 then turns into a dual carriageway as it passes The University of Nottingham. On it's way it also passes a Tennis Centre and a Science and Technology Park. The dual carriageway finishes at Highfields Park in the University grounds. The A6005 goes through Dunkirk and passes the Dunkirk flyover and the Dunkirk fire station.

Dunkirk to Lenton

The A6005 passes The Queens Medical Centre and goes over a railway bridge before coming to a pub at a crossroads called The White Hart. The A6005 goes over another railway and finishes at a roundabout in Dunkirk.
