Fore-Word Press Ltd. is an independent publishing house based in Liverpool UK. It was founded in 2004 by CEO Malik Al Nasir with the intention of giving voice to minority ethnic authors, who for one reason or another - could not get their manuscripts published in the mainstream. Fore-Word Press has since published "Ordinary Guy" by Mark T. Watson - a collection of poetry and prose dedicated to Mark's mentor US Poet and revolutionary Gil Scott Heron. The book includes a foreword entitled "Malik's Mode" written in rhyme by Jalal Mansur Nuriddin of The Last Poets.

"Tabb's and Bouncer" is an illustrated children's book for 3-5 year olds, written by 9 year old Zakiyya Al Nasir and illustrated by Liverpool artist Reilly O'Donnel published in 2005.

"Ayesha's Rainbow" by Rabina Khan was published by Fore-Word Press in 2006 and was launched at Borders in Oxford Street, London by BBC broadcast journalist Rageh Omar.

The documentary "Word Up - From Ghetto to Mecca" was produced by Shirani Sabaratnam for Fore-Word Press in 2005 featuring performance poetry from Mark T. Watson, commentary and endorsments from Gil Scott Heron & Jalal Mansur Nuriddin from The Last Poets, Dub poet Benjamin Zephaniah reading from Mark T. Watson's book "Ordinary Guy" and Jazz drummer Rod Youngs from Washington DC, commenting on the up and coming audio rendition of Mark's work entitled "Rhythms of the diaspora Vol 1" on which Rod plays drums, accompanied by Larry McDonald (formerly of The Scatterltes, Bob Marley, Inner Circle, & Gil Scott Heron) also percussionist Marivaldo do Santos (who played with Wyclef Jean and Shakira)with guest vocals from Jalal Mansur Nuriddin of The Last Poets and New York Dub Poet Ras Tesfa.

Fore-Word Press most recently signed US author "Tonya Leslie" in a 4 book deal for a series of children's titles aimed at minority ethinc boys aged 10-14 years; to encourage reading through the use of positive role models. The series is expected to be published in 2008.
