SWX Europe

SWX Europe, formerly virt-x (virt-x Exchange Limited), is an electronic cross-border share trading platform. It was originally founded in 2001, and late in 2002 became the subject of a takeover offer by the Swiss exchange, SWX, [cite news | url=http://breaking.examiner.ie/archives/?c=BUSINESS&jp=idkfmhmhid&d=2002-12-19 | title=London shares surge in opening deals | publisher=BreakingNews.ie | date=2002-12-19 | accessdate=2007-10-02] and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of that group.

As an RIE (recognised investment exchange) based in London, it is supervised by the UK's Financial Services Authority (FSA).
