Gary Potts was the former chief of the
Temagami First Nation and theTeme-Augama Anishnabai inTemagami, Ontario ,Canada . After being overwhelmed in theSupreme Court of Canada and having fired Dr. Bruce Clark who was a lawyer for the Temagami First Nation throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Gary Potts lost his popularity with people of Bear Island and since then never has been chosen as a chief. Gary Potts currently lives on the 1.8 square mile Bear island.Traditionalist s from Bear Island, argue that Gary Potts fell prey to luster of money and in fact has his own interest in selling land of Temagami to thegovernment of Ontario and private mining companies.References
