North 2 East

North 2 East

Northern Division - North 2 East is an English Rugby Union League at the sixth tier of the domestic competition.

North 2 East is made up of teams from around Northeastern England who play home and away matches throughout a winter season. Promotion and relegation determine the makeup of the league each season, with the top team automatically moving into North Division 1. The relegated team drops into either Durham/Northumberland 1or Yorkshire 1, depending on where the team are based.

Occasionally, depending on promotion and relegation to/from North 1, from North 2 East and North 2 West, teams from either of those leagues may be required to compete in the opposite league for one season to ensure that the number of teams in the East and West leagues remain at 12 teams each.
