Jamestown Theatre

Jamestown Theatre

Jamestown Theatre or the Jamestown High School Theatre Department formed in September 1997 under the directorship of William Snyder. Jamestown within its past ten years of existence has performed a total of 20 full stage productions usually consisting of a fall play and a spring musical.

In 2006, The Theatre Department underwent its largest change when Snyder retired after 44 years of teaching and was succeeded by Bruton's School of the Arts director, Beth Wigley.
Just recently, the department finished their 2007 production of Neil Simon's "The Good Doctor". Currently, Jamestown Theatre is rehearsing for its 2008 Spring production, William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The production will be Jamestown's first spring non-musical, although Wigley added music to the play.
