single 1 =Broken Again |"Another Animal" is the self-titled debut album by supergroup
Another Animal . It was released onOctober 2 ,2007 .History
During the writing sessions of "IV" by Godsmack, lead singer
Sully Erna encounteredwriter's block soTony Rombola ,Shannon Larkin , andRobbie Merill (the musical section of the band) went to the studio and recorded music. After writing almost 40 songs, only 14 were used (Two being bonus songs). The left-over songs were then recycled by the members after they recruitedWhitfield Crane of Ugly Kid Joe as well asLee Richards , Godsmack's first guitarist, and Another Animal was born. [ [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNqiLdwuwNc Youtube - Godsmack Members Form Another Animal ] ]Sound
The music of the album sounds very much like that of "IV" but the vocals are very distinct and sounds nothing like Sully's. The album features very strong bass-lines and hard hitting drums. The album is predominantly heavier but includes a few softer songs, including "
Broken Again " (Which is veryPost-grunge sounding) and "Interlude" (which features acoustic guitars and a very Irish sound to it, showing off the bands heritage).Track listing
