Carling Ernstzen is a young up-and-coming South African actress.
Carling graduated from Rustenburg Girls' High School in 2002. She completed her first year of Film Studies and Drama at the
University of Cape Town , and then went on to do a three year Acting Degree atAFDA (Film and Drama School in Cape Town). She graduated in December 2005, having featured in a number student films. In her third year, she was nominated for Best Actress in a short film "After Hours" by Elana Wetzler. She joined her first acting agency, APM, in February 2006.By March she had been cast in her first feature film role, an independent American movie based on a true story, called
Cambia Tu Vida (directed byDon Taicher ). She played the role of a young Cuban prostitute, a revolutionary in Cuba during theCuban Revolution , with whom the lead actor falls in love.Carling’s third project is a co-starring role in a new South African series called Shooting Stars. It is being produced for ETV by
Penguin Films . Shooting Stars is based on a fictional South African football team, covering their trials and tribulations. She plays Sancha, a rich Johannesburg model and the girlfriend of one of the main football players, Ollie. This production took to screens in August 2007.In 2007 Carling featured as Lola in the comedy "
Big Fellas ", released on November 23, 2007.Apart from being an actress, Carling is also a talented vocalist.
