Characters

Flora Northrop - Flora is a shy, artistic 12 year old girl. She loves to sew and various needlework. Flora has a hard time fitting in, unlike Ruby who immediately wants to do chorus and dance. Flora is Min's oldest granddaughter.

Ruby Northrop - As described by Flora, Ruby was a "puzzle piece that Camden Falls was missing". Unlike Flora, Ruby has no interest in sewing and needlework. She wants to be a star of some sort. Ruby loves to sing, dance, and act. Ruby's 10 years old. Ruby is Min's youngest granddaughter.

Mindy "Min" Read - When Flora was younger she gave her grandmother "Min" as her nick name, Min would say, "In a minute." The nickname eventually stuck. She owns Needle and Thread, with her best friend Gigi Walter. Nobody knows what happend to Min's husband.

Gigi Walter - The grandmother of Olivia and her brothers, Gigi runs Needle and Thread with Mindy Read.

Olivia Walter - Olivia is a full year younger than Flora, but still one of her best friends. Olivia skipped second grade, allowing her to be in Mrs. Mandel's 6th grade class with Flora and Nikki. Olivia's mom was best friends with Flora and Ruby's mom until the time of Mrs. Northrop's death.

Nikki Sherman - Nikki and her little sister Mae are often made fun of on the bus and at school because of how bad they look and smell. Nikki feeds the dogs that come normally every day. Her father left in "Tis' The Season" to get a job in Alabama, just saying he would send money. Her father left for good after Nikki's older brother Tobias attacked him. Nikki has never forgiven Mrs. Grindle for accusing her of stealing a necklace from Stuff 'N' Nonsense in "Welcome To Camden Falls".

Mary Woolsey - Mary comes into Needle and Thread 3 times a week to work and collect mending from customers. At first, Olivia and Flora believe numerous things that turn out to be false. After delivering a package to Mary, she and Flora become friends, with a mysteryof Mary's to solve. Mary's nick name is "Scary Mary".

Allie Read- Min's youngest daughter who comes to live with Min for a few months from New York. Aunt Allie is a writer and is always on her lap top. Allie is a bit dull and Ruby and Flora hate her. At the end of "Best Friends", Allie makes a special room for Flora and Ruby.

"' The Row HousesThese residents occupy the Row Houses located on Aiken Avenue.

The Morris Family- The Morris family lives in the first Row House. There's Mr and Mrs. Morris, Mathias, Lacey, Travis and Alyssa.

The Willet Family- Mr and Mrs Willet (used to) live here. Mrs. Willet was taken to Three Oaks, an old folks home because of her Alzheimers. Mr Willet still lives in the second Row House though.

The Malone Family- Dr. Malone and his two daughters, Margaret and Lydia live in the third Row House.

Min, Flora, and Ruby- Min lives here with Flora and Ruby. Also who lives there is Daisy Dear, a golden retriever and King Comma, a tuxedo cat. These is the fourth Row Housers.

The Walter Family- Mr and Mrs Walter, Olivia, Henry and Jack occupy the fifth Row House. So does Olivia's pet geunie pig, Sandy.

Mr. Pennington- Mr. Pennington and his dog Jacques live in the sixth row house. Olivia is very interested in Mr. Pennington.

The Edwards Family- Mr and Mrs. Edwards live in the seventh Row House along with their son Robby who has down syndrome.

The Fong Family- Barbara and Marcus Fong live in the eighth and final Row House. Their new daughter Grace lives here too.

The ShopsThe shops in the book are a very big deal.

Needle and Thread- A sewing store owned by Min Read and Gigi Walter.

Dutch Haus- The ice cream store that everyone adores.

Frank's Beans- A coffee shop that always has a great aroma!

Stuff 'N' Nonsense- A trinket store owned by mean old, Mrs. Grindle.

Doubletree Sporting Goods- A sports store.

College Pizza- The one and only Camden Falls pizza place!

Heaven- a jewelry store.

Flare- A funky clothes store.

Ma Grande Mere- A sweets shop, later sold to Mr. and Mrs. Walter.

Sincerely Yours- the gift basket store owned by Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Previously Ma Grand Mere)

Fong's Studio- A store owned by Mr. and Mrs. Fong where you may purchase furniture and art.

Grocery Store- A small store with a big selection!

Zack's Hardware- A hardware store with low prices.

Camden Falls Art Supply- The perfect place to buy art supplies.

Verbeyst's Cleaners- A dry cleaning store which people usually pronounce the name wrong.

Plaza Drugs- The local drug store.

Bubblegum- an accessories store. Lot's of girly stuff.

Zinder's- A toy store with everything toys!

Cheshire Cat- the pets store with supplies and small animals. Olivia got her guinea pig here.

Time and Again- The bookstore with used and rare books.

Gourmet Shop- Sells gourmet cheeses, meat, pastas and more.

Cover to Cover- The other bookstore, except with newer books.

T-Shirt Emporium- Buy a T-shirt for a low price as you visit Camden Falls.

Fig Tree- The fanciest restaurant in Camden Falls.

Village Reality- The reality office to get your houses if you're looking for place!

Doctor's Offices- The medical plaza of Camden Falls.

Camden Falls Public Library- The only library in Camden Falls, this is the place check-out books.

Camden Falls Post Office- Got a package to send? Come here!

Dr. Malone's Office- Dr. Malone works here at his dental office.

Plot

In the first book, Flora and Ruby Northrop's parents die in a car accident. Min, their grandmother, moves them to Camden Falls were she lives. They adjust to it nicely and learn to love it. All of the books are great for children and adults. So, come along for the ride with the Main Street series!
